Parramatta is transforming.

Parramatta is a city in transition.  We hear stories daily about how this city is transforming — new buildings & facilities, more jobs, new green spaces, new transport infrastructure and more people.

This site explores new data on Parramatta’s transformation today.  We’re experimenting with different kinds of different data that can be harvested on Parramatta — using social media channels, open data platforms and other digital services. We’re interested in how we can use this data to locate new trends and gain new insights. It’s in beta for now, but over time, we want the site to become a citizen’s dashboard of Parramatta. Enjoy!

Mapping Liveability

A new research collaboration between WSU’s Institute of Culture and Society and SGS Economics and Planning explores the use of open data to understand how liveability might be mapped in Parramatta. The outcome is an interactive prototype that allows users to visualise accessibility to key social infrastructure across the Parramatta LGA, using travel time as a proxy. Find out more.
